چکیده

In this paper, we consider a corrosion model of iron based alloy in nuclear waste repository. It consists in a PDE system, similar to the steady-state drift-diffusion system arising in semiconductors modelling. The main difference lies in the boundary conditions since they are Robin boundary conditions and infer an additional coupling between the equations. Using a priori estimates on the solution and Schauder’s fixed point theorem, we show the existence of solutions to the corrosion model.

On the existence of solutions for a drift-diffusion system arising in corrosion modelling

In this paper, we consider a drift-diffusion system describing the corrosion of an iron based alloy in a nuclear waste repository. In comparison with the classical driftdiffusion system arising in the modeling of semiconductor devices, the originality of the corrosion model lies in the boundary conditions which are of Robin type and induce an additional coupling between the equations. We prove ...

Dealloying and Stress Corrosion Craking of Copper Alloys in Cu(I) Solutions

Natural cases of dealloying or stress-corrosion cracking in copper alloys normally occur in oxygenated solutions, where the cathodic reactant is O2 or Cu2+. Within cavities or under deposits, the local environment is enriched in cuprous ions (e.g. CuCl2-, Cu (NH3)2+) and the potential is close to the Cu/Cu+ equilibrium. Such conditions can be simulated macroscopically by stirring powdered Cu2O ...

An existence results on positive solutions for a reaction-diffusion model with logistics growth and indefinite weight

In this paper, using sub-supersolution argument, we prove an existence result on positive solution for an ecological model under certain conditions. It also describes the dynamics of the fish population with natural predation and constant yield harvesting. The assumptions are that the ecosystem is spatially homogeneous and the herbivore density is a constant which are valid assumptions for mana...
